We know you may have questions about the therapy experience, so we've prepared this list of responses to the questions we most often get.

What services does Wise Mind Counseling, PLLC provide?

We offer individual telehealth therapy for adults and teens, specializing in anxiety, trauma, PTSD, emotional dysregulation, and borderline personality disorder. Our licensed clinicians use evidence-based approaches such as DBT, CBT, EMDR,and trauma-informed care.

Who will I be working with?

Wise Mind Counseling, PLLC is a growing team of licensed mental health professionals. You'll be matched with a therapist whose training and style align with your needs and preferences. All of our clinicians are qualified, compassionate, and committed to helping you meet your wellness goals.

 

Is therapy Virtual or in-person?

All sessions are currently offered via secure, HIPAA-compliant telehealth platforms. Virtual care allows you to meet with your therapist from a private, comfortable space with greater scheduling flexibility.

 

What insurance do you accept?

We accept several major insurance plans, including Aetna, Anthem, Cigna, Optum/United, and others. Coverage and private pay sessions may vary by clinician. We do not currently offer package pricing or group therapy.

How do I schedule my first appointment?

To request an appointment, select the Request an appointment button on our website or use the scheduling link on our Psychology Today profile. Once we receive your request, we'll connect you with an available clinician and guide you through the intake process.

What can I expect during the first session?

The first session is about getting to know you----your history, concerns, and goals. It also gives you and your therapist a chance to see if it's a good fit and begin discussing a personalized treatment plan.

Do you offer a free consultation?

Yes, we offer a complimentary 15-30 minute consultation for new clients. This is a chance to ask questions and explore whether our practice feels right for you.

What if I need medication or psychiatric care?

Our therapists do not prescribe medication, but we can refer you to trusted psychiatric providers in your area for medication evaluation and management. 

 

What if I'm experiencing a mental health crisis?

Wise Mind Counseling, PLLC is not an emergency service provider. If you are in crisis, please call 911, visit your nearest emergency room, or call/text the Suicide & Crisis Lifeline at 988.

Can I choose a therapist based on identity, background, or specialty?

Yes. We understand the importance of cultural, identity-based, and clinical preferences in therapy. Let us know your preferences during intake, and we'll do our best to match you with a therapist who meets your needs.

What type of therapy do you use?

Our Clinicians used evidence-based modalities including Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), mindfulness-based interventions, and trauma-focused care.

Do you see couples or children?

We are currently providing individual therapy for teens and adults. We also offer couples counseling.

​

How long are sessions, and what's the cancellation policy?

Sessions are typically 53-60 minutes. We ask for at least 24 hours' notice to cancel or reschedule to avoid a cancellation fee. 

 

What are your office hours? 

Available 7 days a week 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM. Late appointments are by request only.
